Competitor Information

Thank you for your interest in the Dance Prix de New York. If you would like more information about competing, this page is your starting point.

The Dance Prix de New York requires all competitors to qualify for invitation to the competition. For most of you, that means providing a video link to a dance piece as prescribed in the Rules and Regulations.

Education-Only Participants

Take advantage of the Education Track to get the inside track on your career in Dance. Whether you are a classical or contemporary dancer, you need to connect to the incredible network of teachers and speakers at the Dance Prix de New York. Choose your track, classical or contemporary, and receive class each day with leaders in the dance world. Panel discussions with dancers and choreographers allow you to ask your questions and hear about how you build a career in this amazing field. You don’t need to compete to participate and you have open access to the competition performances as well as the orientation session, a conversation and lecture/demonstration with Richard Chen See, a Fulbright/Nehru Scholar who was a principal dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company and hear him speak about the Taylor legacy and share live performance excerpts from Taylor 2. To set the stage, performances by some special guests including Sean Curran Company, Tisch Dance and Ellison Ballet will be followed by a conversation about choreography with Alexei Ratmansky, Jessica Lang, Seán Curran and Troy Schumacher.

Only for Intermediate to Advanced students! Space is limited and advance registration is required!
